The redesign of the existing interior of the main hall of the Tašmajdan Swimming Pool aims to adapt the large and busy hall to the needs of the pool users. A large reception desk was created in the very center of the space around the existing central pillar so that it is clearly visible and accessible immediately upon entering the facility. A transparent metal partition behind it visually separates a part of the space where users can stay without creating crowds near the entrance. It is designed so that the light from the entrance portal continues to penetrate unhindered into the depth of the space. In this way, functional space is further utilized without spoiling the overall impression.
The partition walls to the right of the entrance are now installed in a more reduced geometry with a glass wall in the full height of the space. In this way, the space for unhindered movement of pool users has been further expanded and the passage to a large part of the changing rooms has been more clearly highlighted. In the depth of the space towards the exit to the pool stands, the entire row (floor, walls, portals and ceiling) is visually highlighted with a muted blue color. Thus, in a visual sense, the space is clearly defined and directly connected to the nearby swimming pool. This idea of redesign was also applied to the corridors leading to the dressing rooms, where with minor interventions the space is visually unified, refreshed and gains authenticity. It is proposed to completely re-light the entire space and replace all suspended ceilings.
Redesigning the interior also means keeping significant parts of the existing interior that need to be refreshed and find a place for them in the new identity of the space. One of the more significant elements is the marble floor, which has been renovated and integrated into a new visual identity with the proposed solution. The integration of existing elements that have already become recognizable in this place for many years has a significant impact on the experience of the users of the space. The redesign emphasizes the maximum utilization of what carries undeniable quality and the implementation of new values that respond to the modern needs of the users of the space.
